Days Six & Seven: Catching Up!

One thing I've discovered about my new sis -- the gift of the gab is genetic!  We spent a lot of time on Tuesday & yesterday filling in the blanks.  We are learning a lot about each other and our lives to date.  Tuesday was also laundry day for me, the results of which I am very grateful for.  Yesterday we went to the local market (a cross between what North Americans might see as a farmer's market and a flea market) to shop.  A few necessaries were found for the children and a fairly complete shop for fresh groceries.

I got really excited when I saw the artichokes.  They were as big or bigger than softballs!  At dinner they were eaten up, having been done in the pressure cooker.  I also had the privilege of choosing the cheeses!  This was my first test of acquired Frenchness and a sign of acceptance.

The rest of my time has also been planned, which makes me think that this visit will have seemed short.  Today we are off to Rouen.  Friday I will have on my own in the downtown.  I will try to see the Louvre, the D'Orsay, and Notre Dame.  Tonight we may go Montmartre for a drink.  Friday night we are driving to Normandy.  Saturday it will be Mont St. Michel (a little change in plans).  Home Saturday night.  Mass Sunday morning and golf in the afternoon.  Monday during the day still holds some possibilities, but Monday night I am going to a hotel near the airport because my flight on Tuesday morning is early.  Tuesday next, will be spent travelling, eventually landing me west of Galway with friends.
